The Fair Folk being noisy-busy bodies saw what happened to Grom’s pack and even she was injured. Pity came to one of the fae, an oak seelie named Tandem (a curious name for oak fae) he decided this poor wolf should be healed however his underlining plot was something else. After giving the young wolf spring water Grom wounds healed. However something else happened. The ends of her fur turned blue and she could learn speech, she also could walk up right. Tandem’s little spell worked, Grom became “Knowing” she was no longer a “Dumb Beast.” Grom however was quite upset when Tandem demanded that she pay him back for his service. Grom growled to him that she didn’t want this. However Tandem argue that now she no longer a mundane wolf but fae one she had to pay for his services. Finding that she was trapt she agreed to pay him back as Gaudian of the Cairns.
Using a charmed rowan staff, Grom wanders all over Britain and Ireland helping humans and Fae alike, she learned many of her spells and magic for doing services for other fae and being rewarded for them.

Its an interesting story, since it seems to be the opposite of characters such a lizard man or Olcadan who were human and then developed animal body parts one way or another.
